5 year old Cody Cream meets an unusual little boy named Jean Ravolte who tries to kill him at first, however after having getting a good look at little Cody, Jean spares his life.
Why? We don’t know.
Carnevoraes (a rabid humanoid monster) are on the loose, hiding under bridges and disguising themselves in bars as normal people.
It just so happens that Jean is one of them.
Cody knows. Jean knows Cody knows. But no one else knows that Cody knows. And he will never tell that he knows.
