Appetite for Distraction is a tale born of one man’s laziness, poor eating habits, and miniscule attention span. That man (or man-child if you will) is known as the Imp. The story follows the Imp, a wannabe superstar comic creator and ladies man. He just can’t understand why his brilliant ideas aren’t rewarded with mountains of cash and he never leaves the party with the prettiest girl in the room. Of course his friends would point out that he never produces his ideas to collect the cash, and he’d actually have to talk to a woman… or go to a party,… but the Imp would dismiss that as crazy talk.
Thanks to the Imp’s limited attention span and limitless daydreaming, the story of Appetite for Distraction is free to go absolutely anywhere. One day it’s a short lived boycott of commercialized, sugary, civil rights leaders… while the next it’s an epic struggle against nefarious undead arctic wildlife. Tomorrow perhaps it will be an introspective look at marsupial angst.
Variety is the spice of life and with Appetite for Distraction the Imp is cooking up a flavorful feast of comic strips. It’s quite a miraculous accident given the fact that his culinary skills don’t go beyond frozen chicken nuggets and a toaster oven.
