A growing resistance movement works to restore the true government. Disgruntled factory worker Taegen Everett is the first half-Nalar, half-Rilen born since the coup and no one is happy about it. Former-smuggler Cabe Derron puts on a brave face to get through the day. Together, Taegen and Cabe navigate the prejudice, rationing, and curfews of downtown Palart City.
