What if British society fell apart overnight? What if half the country was rioting? And the other half wanted to eat you? Jack and Eva Parsons are a newly married couple that go on a techno-free weekend away to Cornwall. On their journey home they become aware that a zombie apocalypse has hit the UK, and their limits are going to be tested to the utmost degree.
RESILIENCE is an indie zombie comic that reflects the current political climate and intricacies of the UK. Particularly with its small amount of guns and high population density. To put that into context, in the US there are 112 guns per 100 people and in the UK there are 6 guns per 100 people. At the same time though there are 85 people per square mile in the US and 679 people per square mile in the UK. With all this in mind there are some vast differences between how the UK would react compared to how the US would.
Created and written by Samuel George London and drawn by Faros Amzas, RESILIENCE borrows from the fast-paced Japanese presentation concept of PechaKucha, where 20 slides are shown for 20 seconds each, to create a new style of comic called KuikuKomiku ( クイックコミック ) with RESILIENCE being the first of its kind.
KuikuKomiku means “quick-comic” in Japanese and uses 22 square panels per issue in which to convey a story. The concept has been created to push creativity to the limits, whilst allowing readers to enjoy a detailed story in a very short amount of time by reducing the usual 22 full pages of a comic to just 22 square panels.
Issues are published on this blog on the first Saturday of every month, although we’d like to increase that to weekly but that’ll have to wait until we get enough support via Patreon @ www.patreon.com/ResilienceComic , you can buy some of our merch from our online shop @ www.zazzle.co.uk/ResilienceComic or you can buy printed paperback versions via Amazon @ www.amazon.co.uk
