Rick Rolo, a young art student is drawing a comic book for a college assignment when a freak lightning storm gives life to the comic and its villain, Zerenth, drags him into the pages of the comic, where he gains super hero-like strength and abilities, with the intent of killing him so she can take his place in the real world and conquer it just as she did the world of Roadkill's design.

Roadkill soon befriends the local branch of resistance against the evil cyborg empress's rule and joins forces with them in hopes of defeating Zerenth and returning to the real world.
